Congrats. You succeeded. You pushed Japanese developers to “westernize” their games. This is the ultimate form of cultural appropriation. 
Remember that forcing developers to adapt to “progressive” western societal norms was always part of the plan. Controlling content, censoring Art in the name of neopuritanism.
DOA was an easy, obvious target for these people who are external to gaming, who fundamentally hate gaming, but see it as a battlefield, affirming the superiority of well-meaning western values over a decadent East.
