One of these 15 year old boys had been a student at my daughter’s middle school.

I received a call this morning notifying me that a former student had been killed in an “off campus incident” and that grief counselors would be made available.

It’s being called a murder-suicide.
Meanwhile, just yesterday and the night before, I also got multiple calls from the school notifying me that a man in a car across from the school was reported by multiple students as having threatened to come and shoot students.

Police were involved. No physical harm resulted.
Late last year, there was another situation in which a student had been reported to the school by multiple other students for making threats on social media to come and shoot up the school.

Authorities were involved, and the student left the school.

I feel like driving up some controversy, so how about a thread of Hot Takes/Unpopular Opinions! You know the drill, one like = one take/opinion.

Start easy: the blunt awkwardness/cringe of 'Blurryface' is the point of taking the piss out of Tyler. I stand by my light 9/10.
2. I don't hate Nickelback's 'Dark Horse' - it's easily a record for them at their most tasteless, but the frat-bro swagger of it helps some of their better hooks.
3. 'Fireflies' by Owl City is a genuinely terrific song that captures precocious, starry-eyed wonderment better than few others in the 2000s.

It is SPECTACULARLY lame, but that's why it works.

Brethren, MI: 17-year-old arrested after sheriff received tip that the student threatened to attack his high school. A semiautomatic rifle was found in his home.
Shorewood Hills, WI: A father entered child’s school and gave a teacher a note with the word “gun” written on it to raise concerns about school security

Orono, MN: High school student wrote in Twitter post: “Orono is not safe. Today at 12:00 I will shoot up the school myself”
Whittier, CA: A school employee heard a 17-year-old student telling a classmate, “I guarantee you the school will be shot up in three weeks”
