I’m not convinced it is in May’s interest to bring a withdrawal agreement to Parliament until right at the death. December, for eg, still leaves 3 months for people to tantrum and pick it apart. No deal’ll need to be imminent, and terrifying, to focus the minds of MPs.
(This of course is not ideal for business certainty and will lead to contingency plans being triggered, but then again, long-term certainty is a long way off in any event.)
And still waiting for ERG lot to realise

a) nothing in declaration on future relationship is legally binding so all they need to do is get Brexit over the line then can re-open fight
b) a NI-specific backstop is perhaps their best chance of getting a basic FTA w/ EU in long-run
