It intrigues me that we bring our children up to tell the truth, not to lie and always be honest... and then release them into a world in which lying is normal and accepted, and telling the truth and being honest is detested and silenced.

How did we manage that then?
Further to this, how can we possibly be the same professionals telling children to speak out about sexual abuse and exploitation - to risk EVERYTHING to tell the truth and report an offender - but we are all covering our backs and silencing whistleblowers and lying to each other?
Does anyone else see the irony here?

How dare we push kids for disclosures and reports of abuse that put their lives at risk, when we won’t even report bad practice or dob in a colleague in case it affects our careers and our mortgage payments?

The cognitive dissonance. Wow.

Okay okay my fellow people who grew up in poverty or in very working class areas:

Name one thing you thought was ‘only for posh people’ when you were growing up that you now realise is for anyone.

I have TONNES!
The first one that springs to mind is Sainsbury’s. I was always told that Sainsbury’s was for rich and posh people and they went to do their shopping there and then had lunch in the cafe lmfao - I was about 20 before I set foot in one
Next one is Walkers Crisps. HAHAHAHA! God I woulda killed for walkers crisps at school. We had like the betterbuy ones from the supermarket and I remember always trying to hide them at lunch time and told everyone I had walkers but I had never had them.

This article is so important to me. I was raped 2 days after giving birth (at 17yo) which ripped open 47 stitches & caused very serious injuries.

This is much more common than we think

However, I wholly disagree that this issue of men raping women shortly after childbirth will be resolved by educating partners on why women can’t have sex after giving birth. All of these women were raped by men who couldn’t give a fuck about them. This isn’t lack of education.
We have a very serious misunderstanding of rape and sexual violence towards women if we believe that educating men would stop a rapist from holding a woman down after she’s given birth and taking what he feels entitled to

One of the disturbing things in the Pennsylvania report is the way it depicts a culture of deception. In Dante’s Inferno, liars are in one of the deepest regions of hell.
One of the reasons (not the only one of course) why sexual abuse is incompatible with the gospel is that it has a special power to generate deception

The way they’re all calling for civility and attacking ostracism, you might almost get the impression that civility helps them and ostracism harms them, weird.
Asking people to make peace with an abuser while the abuse is ongoing is itself abuse.
Watching people who have spent their careers murdering civility in politics suddenly bemoaning the lack of civility in politics, in service of crushing a Pennsylvania small business that insulted one of them, is quite a treat.

Like watching wasps swarm.

After 70 years of imperial/neoliberal indoctrination the web of lies is so obviously absurde (9/11, Skripal, WH = ISIS, etc.), that it is dissoluting. The empathetic humanity connects, closes ranks and sends their eternal psychopathic rulers and their lackeys into nowhere land.
The "evil empire" is a lifelong three year old child. I certainly loved my children at that age too, however only because they created not only a surreal mess, but also made steady progress.

A great documentary about psychopathy and society:
The elite invented "democracy" to protect them from the empathetic people. The media are their means for misleading the people sedated by "democracy". This is definitely a bad thing since the people have become educated and the elite almost totally insane.
