I would give Republican Ron DeSantis the benefit of the doubt that he wasn't intending to be racist when he said voters shouldn't "Monkey This Up" by voting for Andrew Gillum...

But that would mean ignoring decades worth of racist GOP rhetoric; it's just out in the open now.
We're talking about a Republican Party whose current leader is the King Birther.
When a political party shows you who they are, believe them the first time...
