I just read last paragraph in this excerpt from Brice Taylor’s book and can confirm what she wrote.
Also, this is part of what I was used for on the old Pepperdine Campus as a child before Malibu campus was built.
My mother Dr. Diana Hiatt-Micheal was proud of my ESP skills.
Every time my memories are confirmed by an outside source, to a point that I can’t gaslight myself (which I still work really hard at doing)
I start crying.
It’s like a door to horrible pain/grief is opened and my only response is to cry... alone without comfort, again.

I was jolted awake by the phone ringing.
It was my father in law, his panicked voice on the other end, crying in fear. He asked me where his son was.
I said he’s already in court this morning.
My father law a retired lawyer was a bright, articulate man yet he was nearly unintelligible that morning choking on tears, terrified for his precious little girl. My sister in law, his first born child was a buyer for Macy’s and working in NYC on 9/11/2001.
Papa, as we called my father in law said, “turn on the tv.” My heart racing, I walked on swollen feet carrying my heavily pregnant body to the family room to switch it on and stood phone in hand staring in disbelief as I witnessed the trauma of #911 unfold before me.

On April 4, 1965, William Buckley addressed a prayer breakfast for Catholic police officers. The press reported that “more than 5,600 New York policemen clapped and cheered” as Buckley praised the “‘restraint’ of the police in Selma.”
Criticized for this, Buckley called his lawyer. He said although he criticized an anti-police tendency, he said he “spoke sympathetically of the plight of Negroes in the South” and “deplored the violence in the South and the attitude of lackadaisical white Southerners toward it.”

It’s time for my (mostly) Spoiler Free review of Thor: Ragnarok. Grab a drink and a snack, get comfortable while I spew my thoughts at you.
Right off the bat, let’s just address of the reviews (mostly by white dudes) claiming this movie is shallow fun. It is fun and so much more.
In fact, Ragnarok is a better tonal fit to the 1st Thor movie than Dark World, while also addressing the messy implications of that film.
