Some right wingers are now tweeting that Mark Judge was “right” when he wrote for Chuck C. Johnson’s blog, attacking the woman in Rolling Stone’s now-retracted UVA gang rape article.
Technically, he may have been “right” this time, because parts of the RS article did indeed end up being discredited, but calling this “right” misunderstands what people like Chuck Johnson and Mark Judge do.
Their modus operandi is to attack and smear and try to discredit EVERY rape victim that gets into the news. Johnson in particular has obsessed with this for years, especially college campus rape stories.
So when they do this for every high profile story, eventually they're probably going to be "right" about something just by the law of averages.
But this isn't being "right" in the sense of being accurate and scrupulous -- it's only "right" in the sense of random chance.
