I’m (foolishly) going to call this now. By the end of the Tory conference, the relationship with EU27 will have been irrevocably soured. UKGov won’t come with a new backstop text. Talks will continue through October, with no progress, just more bluster & blame from UKGov 1/
UKGov will reject a new EU27 text ‘dedramatising’ by allowing checks away from ports, and continue to falsely paint it as an attempt to break up the UK. The ‘emergency summit’ in November will be cancelled (or not announced). This will also be used to point blame at EU27. 2/

Happy Saturday. A vital thread on Blue Texas follows:

1) Texas is notoriously hard to poll with so many different sections and demographics. This is true even before we address the topic of media purposefully manipulating polls to show a democrat wave coming to Texas.
2) We remember just a month and a half ago the Texas Blue wave being unceremoniously flushed to sea like the turd it is. Well, this article featuring MSM polling data should calm nerves, as it surely understates support for Trump, Abbott, and Lyin Ted

3) Texans are bigly in favor of Trumpian policies at the border - keep in mind that Texas is only 44% non hispanic white. By default that means that Hispanics, blacks, and Asians have higher support for these policies than at any time in history. The message is getting out.

We know that Tory plans to take us out of the single market and customs union would cost hundreds of thousands of UK jobs, and damage people’s incomes, living standards, and livelihoods for decades to come.

A thread on the latest Brexit shit show (sorry):

1) Important to understand EU27 position: the request is for UK to guarantee that *absent other solutions* there will be no hard border in Northern Ireland *under all circumstances*
2) The demand is due to May’s redlines - the UK is leaving the single market & customs union - and this seems irreconcilable with avoiding a hard border
3) The UK has been aware of this since those redlines were set – and nobody has come up with a workable solution that doesn’t involve magical thinking, empty rhetoric, tweeting sonnets or science fiction

Corbyn has repeatedly said the vote has been had and the question is settled. So the Tories have no line of attack on Labour is anti-brexit
This means Corbyn keeps his Leave voters. However, can then unilaterally offer rights to EU nationals and promise a jobs first Brexit.
