I love the idea of the @Astrohaus wordprocessors -- their rad keyboards, the lack of Internet for distraction-free immersion.

But my form of nonfiction writing is just too heavily dependent on looking up facts *as* I'm writing. I can't cut myself off. The lookups *are* the work.
And when I say, "the lookups *are* the work", I don't mean merely "I need to find a fact to slot in here, like a mad-lib." It's more like, I'll be in mid-sentence, pause to look something up, read for half an hour, and change the arc of the paragraph.
This is a fractal problem, I find, with advice/tech designed for "how to get writing done". The emphasis on "do X number of words a day" and "avoid the Internet" are great for fiction, memoir. They're often useless for reported longform writing.
