Happening now: The Senate Judiciary Committee is voting on a slate of nine lower court nominees, incl. 8th Circuit nominee Jonathan Kobes, who got a "not qualified" rating from the ABA, and DC district court nominee Carl Nichols. You can watch here: judiciary.senate.gov/meetings/10/11…
Grassley says they can't go the agenda yet re: voting on the judicial nominees because there aren't enough Republicans in the room.

Grassley: "I thank Democrats for taking their job very seriously"
More Republicans showed up so now they're voting. 8th Circuit nominee Jonathan Kobes has been approved by the committee along party lines, 11-10, ditto for WD-NC nominee Kenneth Bell
Here are the other committee votes on judicial nominees today:
Stephanie Gallagher, MD: 20-1 (Lee voted no)
Mary McElroy, RI: 19-2 (Lee and Kennedy voted no)
Carl Nichols, DC: 11-10 (party line)
Martha Pacold, ND-IL: 18-3 (Hirono, Booker, Harris voted no)

(cont'd)
(cont'd)
Mary Rowland, ND-IL: 16-5 (Cornyn, Lee, Cruz, Sasse, Crapo voted no)
Steven Seeger, ND-IL: voice vote

Grassley said they would hold over Oklahoma district court nominee John O'Connor — O'Connor also received a "not qualified" rating from the ABA
