To male TV writers who didn’t get staffed this season:

1. I’m sorry. I’ve been there. It sucks.

2. If your agent told you that you didn’t get staffed because of #MeToo, that’s bullshit. And here’s why:
A woman didn’t take your job. One of the many, many other men who got staffed this season took your job.
While there are now a few shows with all-female or majority-female writing staffs, the overwhelming majority of employed TV writers are still male. (Despite the fact that women make up 51% of the population.)

The White House Correspondents Dinner doesn’t honor our free press. It makes a mockery of it by showing just how cozy politicians are with the press & how easily reporters can be charmed into giving favorable coverage.
I love a good joke, but the very idea of the WHCD is not funny at all.

There’s a lot to unpack here, It’s mostly factually correct but Rosenberg chooses “racist-friendly” when “first amendment friendly” or “free speech friendly” or “censorship-free” would do. Instead he picks his words so his politics and misleading intentions are on display

I was reading about Margaret Chase Smith's career last night, and that led me to reread her 1950 Declaration of Conscience speech, in which she condemned the growing McCarthy witch hunts--four years before the Senate ever considered censuring McCarthy.
I was struck by how much of what she said applies to our current situation.

I mean, just this first paragraph:
She went on to condemn character assassination as policy and to condemn fear-mongering as limiting citizens' First Amendment rights to free speech and protest. She railed against the Truman administration, calling it ineffective and in need of replacement.

BTW, I try to ignore anti-Semitic trolls, but I am deeply concerned by their proliferation. Canary, coal mines, some assembly required.
What I mean is that anti-Semitism is the bellwether of societal paranoia, a fear-based reaction to the loss of cultural coherence.
Confident, optimistic people who have faith in a better future do not surrender to the scapegoating paranoia of anti-Semitism.
