Kinda hilarious that people are making a deal over women dancing (AOC), drinking beer (Warren) and swearing (Tlaib).

I'm having flashbacks to the evangelical college I attended.
Reminded me of this 1941 classic of fundamentalist theology, a widely influential book in mid-century conservative Protestant circles.
At my evangelical college in the late 70s, we only had square dances (why they were "holy" I never could figure), you could drink if you were 21 and off-campus and it would cause no one to "stumble" (it was a liberal evangelical college) & swearing could get you expelled.

Today, dedicated payroll taxes are relied upon to operate Social Security and *some of* Medicare. There are two Trust Funds associated with each of these federal programs. Social Security's Trust Funds are: OASI (Old-Age and Survivors Insurance) and DI (Disability Insurance).
Medicare's two separate Trust Funds are: Hospital Insurance (HI) and Supplementary Medical Insurance (SMI). Each year, the financial health of Social Security and Medicare is evaluated in the form of an Annual Report of the Trustees. ssa.gov/oact/TRSUM/

Asking all my 50-60 year old followers. Please do the following exercise & post your thoughts about it 🙏:
1. Calculate how many years you've been paying into Social Security. If you can, calculate # paychecks (2 per month for x months) YOUR EARNINGS were removed for SS. (cont)
2. Now, go to your retirement planning. Your MONTHLY budget. And REMOVE Social Security amount you are expecting to receive for your retirement.
Again, REMOVE the Social Security line item from your retirement budget.

3. Next, REMOVE your earned healthcare benefits: Medicaid and Medicare. And ADD in the cost of private insurance plan that will cover assisted living costs (estimate needing this at 85 yrs. to be conservative). For R/x costs, conservatively add $800/month.
