1/ "Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins. 1 Peter 4:8

"Fervent" is ektenes. Ek means "out" and intensifies teino meaning "to stretch". Properly "to stretch out". But the intensity of ek denotes "straining".

2/ This word denotes stretching/straining a muscle to it maximum capacity.

What Peter is saying that believers are going to sin against each other and we are going to have to use every ounce of our being to love them.

That is strenuous work.
3/ What is interesting is the parallel to kinesiology. It is straining a physical muscle that actually builds and strengthens it. In the spiritual sense the more we strain and stretch to love the brethren who offend us the stronger we get and the easier it is to love them.
4/ There will be a temptation to offend them back, which is the moment we must choose to extend mercy and grace to them for they are fellow heirs to the throne.

Let's strive to fervently love the brethren who offend us

That is today's #Exhortweetion
