Given Fox News's role in spreading the sort of hateful misinformation that fuels domestic terrorism like we've seen the past few days, it's time for Americans to start putting pressure on the advertisers who support them. Here's a list of Fox's top advertisers from Q3 2018.

I currently drive a @subaru_usa. I will not buy another one, however, until they stop giving money to Fox News.

Question for the news editors at the major networks. If you knew then what we know now about the Gulf of Tonkin incident, would you have broadcast this speech live? I think the answer is probably, "no way." Just keep that in mind tomorrow.

1. The movement of people across borders is a constant in world history (though the rate and direction of movement has ebbed and flowed over time). This tweet, however, helped me see the urgent contemporary connection between current/future immigration policies & climate change.
2. Put most simply, the world can either strengthen & militarize borders to deal with coming climate migration (build walls), or they can engage in a collaborative process of rethinking how they want those borders to work, how porous they should be. The latter is very hard work.
3. The nation-state as an institution has in many ways been weakened recently, largely by the mechanisms of global capitalism, but I don't see many signs that nations will be disappearing any time soon. Thus, nations (possessing geographical borders) will continue to exist.

This is a really important point. As we glory in dunking on dumb old Grover, we must remember that he was probably *the most important and influential Republican operative* of the 1990s. He was a key agenda setter and "idea guy" for the GOP in the ages of Gingrich and W.
Grover's "billionaires are the new slaves" schtick is of course absurd...and it was also pretty much GOP dogma for much of my adult life. Grover is not speaking for some bizarro fringe element within the GOP, he basically ran the GOP in DC from behind the scenes for decades.

For decades, leaders of both parties preached the gospel that free trade was a rising tide that would lift all boats. Great rhetoric – except that the trade deals they negotiated mainly lifted the yachts – and threw millions of working Americans overboard to drown.
There’s no question we need to renegotiate NAFTA. But as it’s currently written, Trump’s deal won’t stop the serious and ongoing harm NAFTA causes for American workers. It won’t stop outsourcing, it won’t raise wages, and it won’t create jobs. It’s NAFTA 2.0.
I oppose NAFTA 2.0, and I will vote against it in the Senate unless @realDonaldTrump reopens the agreement and produces a better deal for America’s working families.

Given the increased scrutiny on Sinclair over the past few days, the GM at KOMO in Seattle is scheduled to address the newsroom this afternoon, per my source.
Meeting is happening now. (Most evening crews come in around 3 pm.)

My source says there's been a sort of "weird nervous energy" in the newsroom today.
KOMO newsroom-wide meeting lasted more than half an hour. Highlights, per source:
- lots of people speaking up & pushing back on Sinclair edicts
- main message: take comfort in the work you can do
