Putting aside the “internment camp” nonsense, what do you want to do with large groups who show up seeking Asylum?
Do you want them released during the asylum process given ~30% won’t show up to their court dates? If you want then detained, where would you detain them?

These seem like important questions that just aren’t being asked. Instead we get a lot of name-calling and fear-mongering.
Even the Obama admin built quite a few new detention facilities, which @SenJeffMerkley ridiculously compares to internment camps and the media complains about without noting alternatives.
