I’ve been lucky to be able to take thousands of battlefield photos during the #WW1Centenary, here some of my favourites. Dawn in the trenches at Beaumont-Hamel on the #Somme, June 2016.

My final one is the #Somme100 art installation at #Barnsley in July 2016. One of the best #WW1Centenary projects I saw. A warm summers evening with someone special made it especially memorable.

1/ Amid Twitter maybe getting rid of the "like" to promote "better dialog" and certainly giving safe haven to nazis and other extremists, a rant:
2/ You probably noticed how, people came forward to say that they'd reported the bomber for violent threats, and Twitter (as always) did nothing and (as always) now apologizes but (as always) won't say how they'll better handle. They won't, and I'll tell you one big reason why.
3/ to address complaints about threats and "improve the dialog" Twitter introduced the "quality filter." You see fewer threats and hate speech. BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN THERE'S LESS OF IT.

Voter enthusiasm/engagement is very high in the new Pew poll, with 61% of voters saying they're more enthusiastic than usual to vote in the midterms. This question is usually a pretty good predictor of overall national turnout. pewrsr.ch/2ONPD0q
Note, however, that GOP historically quite high by midterm standards -- it's just that Democratic enthusiasm is totally off the charts.
A pretty good #take is that with base turnout already expected to be quite high, the parties should spend the final 6 weeks of the campaign appealing to swing voters instead.
