Seeing a lot of tweets that the Supreme Court is going to decide whether the citizenship question appears on the census.

It’s not.

The case only concerns what evidence may be collected in the ongoing district court trial re: the challenge to the citizenship question.

MORE SCOTUS NEWS: CJ Roberts joins liberals in DENYING a Trump administration's request to stay lower-court ruling against his asylum ban. Justices Thomas, Alito, Gorsuch and Kavanaugh dissent.
If/when this comes to SCOTUS for full review, Roberts is anything but a sure vote to line up against the administration again. Given his uber-deferential opinion in Trump v Hawaii (the travel-ban case) last June, he's quite unlikely to halt an asylum ban on the merits.

At my request, the researchers ran the data to try to predict the outcome of two of last year's big cases (on gay-wedding cakes and gerrymandering) by listening closely to Justice Kennedy's pitch. (Results weren't great.)

1/ I'm seeing a lot of tweets about the European Court of Human Rights judgment on an Austrian case involving the conviction for calling Muhammad a paedophile. The court found there was no breach of Article 10 (right to free expression). A few thoughts (short thread)

Seeing a lot of panic this week about esports teams going through "realignments" where staff, players, and even full teams are being let go. As someone who has seen every side of this industry, I've been warning friends and colleagues that this was coming for a while. A thread:
The first thing you need to know is that the majority of esports teams are not profitable. They are funded by investors who hope to make a return *eventually* when esports grows and draws in big money from fans and advertisers like they do in IRL sports.
I've talked to many teams, big and small, and it seems they all have different ideas about where esports is headed and how their team can move to profitability. They all agree growth is happening, but the details & path to profit are still pretty fuzzy depending on who you ask.
