Speaking of presidents taking care of personal business: A principal source of Lyndon Johnson's wealth were the TV/radio stations that he and Lady Bird owned in Austin (bought with money Lady Bird got from an inheritance)

Lady Bird was actually the shrewd businesswoman in the Johnson family. “She could read a balance sheet the way a truck driver reads a road map,” an old friend said. The Johnsons used their clout in Washngton to have their way w/the FCC /2
Even as President, Johnson often carried around 3*5 cards in his pocket with the latest ad sales figures from the family stations. The TV station was sold in 1973 (the year LBJ died) and the radio properties in the '90s, though "KLBJ" is still on the air today

richard preston was sentenced to eight years, with half suspended. he’ll serve four years for discharging a firearm within 1000 feet of a school (more specifically, at corey long) on august 12, 2017.
charlottesville commonwealth’s attorney joe platania says preston was remanded to custody after the hearing and will be headed to albemarle charlottesville regional jail now.

9/11 was my 25 yr wedding anniversary.

I was at home in MN instead of New York holding a conference call.

Most of my team was in NY. I was introducing another team to explore a joint effort.

My guys were mostly Soviet Era Jewish immigrants.
2- My guys came over as teens in the 1980s.

I started the call when I received a call from my wife. (Ex wife now). She asked if I knew the WTC tower was hit. I said no and turned on TV.

Shortly afterward the second plane hit the second tower
3- everyone except me was in NYC or nearby

I told everyone on the call what was happening.

A guy from the new group exclaimed his fiance worked in the WTC. He dropped off. One of my guys said his wife, a pharmacist, worked around there too. I told everyone to take day off and..

On this day in 1999, NATO began bombing Yugoslavia, dropping 23,000 bombs/missiles & killing 1,000 civilians. The 78 day bombing campaign included strikes on hospitals, TV/radio stations, crowded markets, passenger trains & even a refugee camp.
The bombing campaign—which included many war crimes—injured thousands of civilians with attacks on private homes, as well as strikes on critical infrastructure like roadways, bridges & power plants.
NATO strikes included the use of cluster-bombs (which are banned by 102 countries), as well as, depleted uranium--which contaminated large areas with radioactive remnants of NATO’s weapons.
