However, in opposition to this, one of the best and mostly ignored arguments that I've heard for UK remaining in the EU was that the UK is a counter weight against the rise of the far right. Our political system of voting removes the extremes.
Of course, any influence is firmly lost if the withdrawal agreement is agreed especially in the NI protocol once the backstop is initiated. A set of very hard choices for Parliament in the next week. I wish them well and hope they make the better choice for the long term.
