What saddens me about @russell_nm's op-ed here isn't that she got the science wrong (really wrong) or that she cites a doctor that's been dismissed by the vast majority of our pediatricians. It's that she's writing this for clickbait. Imagine being that desperate for attention.
So here you go, @russell_nm. Here's some attention. There are children harassed and bullied and abused for something they can't help and shouldn't need to "help", but I'm really glad you spent 30 minutes writing this to tear them down. I hope it felt good. Hope it's worth it.
And by the way, @russell_nm, before you condescendingly "pray" for me, please know that I prayed for 20 years to not be transgender. In a church just like yours. How tragic that I can't take back that time asking God to remove something that She gave me as a gift. Take care.
