DOJ's Inspector General says in a new report that it couldn't review text messages Peter Strzok and Lisa Page may have sent while they worked for the special counsel because by the time they asked, the devices had been re-issued to other agents.
The IG also says it's "unlikely" that Strzok or Page had anything to do with the fact that the FBI's system for collecting text messages didn't capture some of theirs. The FBI had a lot of problems collecting messages from some Samsung phones.
As of November, the Inspector General says the FBI still was unable to capture text messages from "approximately 10% of the mobile devices then in service."
