Wanna bet on how congressional R’s will dodge the shutdown and catch their flights?

A hasty 2-4 week continuing resolution (without wall funding) which merely kicks the can down the road until they’re back in Jan.

If they do something like that it means the wall is dead.

With the House flipping in Jan, there is zero chance a Dem-controlled House will approve wall funding.

If enough House R’s are ready to quit the facade of truly wanting to pay for a dumb president’s dumb idea though, they won’t care...

They won’t take the blame in Jan.

Their house is in disarray.

Per my earlier thread re his narcissism, he just needs plausible deniabilility. He can’t take a loss.

Anyway, let’s see what happens but I’d wager a tall Fresca (and by ‘Fresca’ I mean ‘vodka’) that Congressional R’s will stave off a shutdown by punting the ball.

The last thing they want is Loonytoon McBonkers cloistered in the White House mad he isn’t at his Florida Cheese Palace.

Bet they get the hell out of Dodge with a bandaid, a smoke screen and nothing done to reach an actual deal for funding the gov in 2019.
