This past week I saw quite a few people responding to a tweet asking about what their top 3 accomplishments were for the year. While celebrating successes is important, I've found it more instructive to use this 360 framework. /thread
1/ each section of my own review has multiple bullets, but in the interest of sharing and demonstration I have included items from mine. Remember, they are not all work related. I focus on all aspects of what's important to my life: family, health, work, wealth, friends.
2/ "Biggest Accomplishments" - 'Big' is a relative term. I had a fantastic work year and have work items on the list, but even little victories can seem like big accomplishments.

"Helped my daughter discover a love of playing ice hockey"
3/ "Biggest Disappointments" - This doesn't mean "failures." It means the things you look at and about which you don't feel great. Individual items which require reflection.

"Didn't focus on building new friendships in CO; feeling apart from the community as a result"
4/ "Do More (because it's working)" - Beyond those 2, I've borrowed from my work review system. If you've discovered a vein of activity which is producing results, focus on that.

"Extended and proactive work on learning new tech skills via online courses and personal projects"
5/ "Do Less (because it's not working)" - some things you do because you think it will produce positive outcome, and it doesn't. Stop.

"Have guilt about workout training time; it's agreed upon with the family. Do not let 'what's happening at the house' take me out of the moment"
6/ "Did Not Enough (intent was there, execution wasn't)" - intent is great, but you have to execute, especially on the important things.

"Actual reading of books - listened to *a lot* of @audible books (good) but I need to spend my 'before bed time' reading not on YouTube."
7/ "Did Too Much (I should have known better)" - There are some things which are short duration fixes and others take years. This has been a multi-year struggle for me.

"Using the word "I" or looping back on stories from others with stories about myself; two ears one mouth."
8/ "Need to Start This Year (I want and need to make time for these)" - interests will come and go; nurture them. Maintain your learning muscle.

"Find and complete at least 2 practical learning courses - i.e. outdoor survival training, basic carpentry or home wiring, etc"
9/ "Need to Stop Immediately (I know these are bad, and they must stop 100%)" - Focus. Put the energy and focus into stopping these harmful or counterproductive things.

"Drinking soda"
10/ Hopefully this helps at least 1 person. I find the 'new year, new me' phenomena fascinating and sad. The number of busted resolutions come Feb is staggering. Objective (measurable, out of your control) and Process (in support of Objective; in your control) goals are superior.
11/ Ultimately creating that plan of Objective and Process goals is a result of really understanding what's important to you (your Principles) and what you are willing to do in support of them (you Priorities). Reflection on the past year is incredibly helpful in that regard.
