I'm finally playing Hyrule Warriors, and it's entertaining anime trash, but I am very surprised to find that Linkle is my favorite character?!?
Surprised and ambivalent.
The final move of one of her combos is raising her crossbow in the air, throwing her hood back, and singing the Zelda series victory tune out loud - "der der der derrrr!!" - like a fucking dork.
She's awesome.

But also, like... she exists for the express purpose of not allowing the possibility of The Soul of the Hero being reincarnated as a girl.
She is, canonically, *a* hero, but not *the* hero.

And, like, a dorky but courageous character believes she's the fated hero so strongly that she becomes a proper hero even though it wasn't her destiny? That's a great character!
I just wish it were a different context she were created in.
