The main thing "sanctuary" does is allow victims and witnesses of crime to work with the police without fear they'll be arrested and deported. As a group, they already have a lower crime rate than US citizens do. It would be even lower if they felt safe to whistleblow.

If they COULD get a license without facing deportation, more of them would do so (taking a driver's test, AND getting insurance) instead of risking arrest by driving illegally. We'd all be safer.
