They told me I was special and I had a lotta talent and potential. So I started drinking with em, clubbing, late nights at the studio, all in the hope of getting em to "help" me out...cos, I was special, you know😂
Didn't take me long to figure out that it was a waste of my time. All they ever did was introduce me to bad habits and fcuking up my liver with all the alcohol. I was about 18/19 at the time...
It's very easy for us young girls to fall prey to these kinda situations. All we wanna do is sing and earn a living doing what we love the most and these niggas think they can take advantage of us cos we helpless - which most of the time is true...
Honestly tho, here's what I wanna say...No one owes you anything. They can promise, but they ain't gotta do shit. It's the world we live in. You wanna sing and be famous? It's hard AF, but do the fcuking work and you'll be alright.
Keep putting out music, use your social media accounts to push yourself, pay for sponsored ads, perform at bars...I don't know mehn, just don't depend on these "industry niggas" to help you out, cos it RARELY fcuking works.
I saw a video of a lady blaming R Kelly's victims. I don't think it was their fault. All they wanted to do was make it big in the industry. They felt there was no other way. Before they knew it, they were in too deep and couldn't get out. Sigh.
Why are creatives the only ones who can die for their passion? Why is it so freaking hard to say "fcuk it, I am not doing again. I'll go get a job somewhere?" I know I'll never quit this hustle. It's my whole life.
