I'm guessing Watson is not actually one of those people. But okay.
James Watson is a case of the trap some scientists fall into, where their skill in their own field makes them think they can weigh in on other fields they don't understand.

When a scientist does this, their personal biases shine through. And in Watson's case it's REALLY ugly.
And FYI, Watson was also a spectacular misogynist.

In The Double Helix, he made clear that he was extremely offended by Rosalind Franklin's lack of femininity (his work would never have been possible without hers).
