Wow. The fact that they felt compelled to respond on the record is significant. Buzzfeed has some real explaining to do. That’s why skepticism was clearly the correct approach to that report.
Again:

These anonymously sourced stories just do not have a oof track record.

Buzzfeed now has 2 choices: Either reveal sources or documents to back up their reporting or take a serious blow to their credibility.
Even more embarrassing that BF then ran a story assuming that story was true and insisting members of Congress comment on it as if it was accurate (notice lack of the word “allegedly”):

The more I think about it, the more annoyed I get about what Phillips did: He intentionally created a confrontation with kids, he celebrated when the kids maturely walked away, and then abused sympathy for him by lying about EVERY aspect of it to WaPo to smear the kids.
Again, here is what he told the media immediately after.

Video shows:

1) No "Build the wall" chant

2) Kid did not block him. He approached the kids and got in the face of that particular kid w/ his drum.

3) He had plenty of room to "retreat" or leave.
And then he cited his dead wife dying of cancer to build sympathy for complete distortion about what happened, which media willingly ran w/. Kids should have behaved better and just walked away, but shouldn't we expect more from an adult than smearing kids to the press?

So I want to talk about the video of the kids and the Native man from this morning: I thought it was dumb and disrespectful when I saw it. Kids tend to do dumb and disrespectful things, but adults should have stepped in. At the same time, I don't like to focus on kids.
As the day went on and I started seeing major media figures highlighting it, some reporters trying to identify the kids, and others suggesting violence against them, the more uncomfortable I got with this story. I wanted the kids to face consequences, but not a mob.
These kids should learn a lesson, not have their lives ruined over a viral moment of them acting dumb. The main kid in the video was a primary target for a lot of big accounts. However, now that I've seen the full video, I'm even more annoyed at the mob.

This is not a defensible position.
It's one thing to refuse to make any concessions or negotiate when the other side is doing the same thing (as Trump was), but not when they offer a compromise.
A few weeks ago, Dems were willing to give Trump 1.3-1.6 B for the wall + other border security $ in exchange for funding the gov’t.

Trump demanded 5B for the wall. Dems shifted to 0.

Now Trump offers 5B, but willing to extend Dreamer protections for 3 years. D offer still 0...

Here's an important story you probably haven't heard in the chaos of the US news cycle:

An Ethiopian-Israeli mother of 3 quite possibly prevented a war between Israel and Gaza yesterday. Her name is Miri Tamano, and here is how it happened.
Early Wednesday morning, a rocket was fired from Gaza at the Israeli town of Beersheva. Warning sirens sounded. Tamano, a 39-yr-old divorcee raising 3 kids on her own, woke each in their bedrooms & rushed them to the bomb shelter.

The entire house was destroyed, but they lived.
Had any of these children—ages 8, 10, and 12—been murdered in their beds by a rocket from Gaza, Israel’s government—like any other—would likely have felt compelled to respond forcefully in an escalation that could easily have led to war.

 Many news sites refer to Badwan as either a protestor or a demonstrator who was shot and killed by the #IDF. The photo on the left, from the DailyMail, states Badwan is a protestor. The photo on the right from CGTN states Badwan is a protestor as well.

 The problem is Badwan wasn’t there to protest in the way most people think. This video was taken Friday afternoon at the Karni crossing where Palestinians were clashing w/ #IDF soldiers. At the end, you can see Badwan being evacuated after getting shot by the #IDF.

Let's take a look at Strzok's response - his latest - to the question of what he meant when he said, "We'll stop it" when Page asked if Trump would ever become president. On the left is the quote in question and Strzok's response to the IG. On the right, his response today.
Note that no mention is made of Khan or war heroes to the IG - it's simply a reassuring response to Lisa Page, with no intention, according to him, of actually acting on it. Today, it was all about Trump's abhorrent behavior, particularly wrt the Khan issue. Missing: reassurance.
Here are the texts directly before and after the "We'll stop it" response (which was mysteriously deleted and discovered by the OIG a couple months ago). His first text to Page after their exchange the night before is to ask what prompted her question about Trump.

It's also about "analysts" & "journalists" and Syria echo chambers.
You find this thread wrong? Well - stick it in your pipe and smoke it - 'cause I'm miffed.
I don't follow Ms Marwa Osman - so her tweet recommending Twitter accounts & a YouTube channel of a Mr Kevork Almassian must have entered my timeline via someone I follow.
Her Tweet clearly leads to links collecting donations - i.e. money or "pennies" as Mr Almassian later said.
My response admittedly wasn't diplomatic. But lately a lot of "analysts" and "journalist" seem to hustle for cash in my timeline and so I wrote what I felt in my heart - including the fact that at the end of the day I was - whilst not approving - accepting it as a fact of life.

#Fact 1 - The Wage Gap is real. People who says it's not haven't read the data.

However, in places like the USA, the wage gap is *not* mostly due to sexism like many #femnist #WomenInScience are claiming it is today. Disparate outcomes doesn't imply disparate treatment.
Women typically choose fields that are lower paying; even in the #STEM fields. To attribute that to sexism only or even mostly is a very dishonest way of deriving an answer for this complex disparity.

3/25 In World of Warcraft, players can get into groups known as a "raid." It is literally what it means, an attack on an enemy by troops. The "troops" being the players. Raids consist of 10, 20, and 40 players, but this isn't really germane to the analogy.
