The rise of social media related suicides is a wake up call to seriously consider questioning relationships in this time and age...

3 weeks ago I just rescued a 21 year old girl who drank sniper 30 minutes prior her being rushed to my Hospital...

*prior to her*

Now what happened. From all information I gathered, the girl was learning fashion design from a mentor (woman), and apparently the girl didn't like the way the mentor took advantage of her. The girl had learned enough from the mentor to enable her start on her own
that is, start he own business, but this woman won't let her leave, rather she will use her and not pay her, while not letting her graduate. When the girl returned for the Christmas holidays she pleaded with her Mum not to go back but the mother refused to understand...
as the mother thought she was probably lying and being difficult. The girl's mother also was also considering the relationship between her and the mentor since they were family friends maybe that's why she didn't want to believe. Either way, this girl drank Sniper at home...
Now, while this isn't closely related to this Asiwaju case, we need to understand some trends of this time and age..

1) I have observed that clinical depression has been on the rise within the youth population, many of them want to talk, but they're afraid of being judged and...
castigated, especially with social media where nothing's hidden. This has led to increased mental fragility in many of our youths. Let's not forget there's still peer pressure, economic difficulties that worsen these tendencies.

Youths, we need to truly look out for one another.
Social media was meant to make us more connected, but never in the time of the world have we been so divided, judgemental and abusive, folks who in real life can't speak boldly face to face are now emboldened by the virtual privacy of SM to be confrontational and abusive. We...
can adopt new names and identities here, and become as savage as we want to be to gain impressions, all at the expense of someone's mental health. However virtual social media is, the effects on mental health are the same, the people we insult are REAL people.
Let us begin to leverage on the true advantages of social media, using it to make us more connected to solve challenges that threaten our humanity, not using it as a tool to worsen mental health and cause more depression.

I commend @MentallyAwareNG for what they do here...
Let us be more civil in our engagements, let's not give in to our usual lusts of bringing people out here to rubbish them or insult them, because these people are real, and one day it could be you. And on that day, will your mental state of health be able to handle the pressure?
End. Thank you all for listening and have a great weekend.

Oh and one more thing, I think the sale of Chemicals and poisons like DDVP (Sniper) should be strictly regulated, not made available over the counter. But what do you think?

Should Sniper be made available in stores or not?
