2/ FWIW i think a reasonable end point might look something like this. Real DACA with a reasonable pathway to citizenship. In exchange $5 billion of funding for maintenance and if necessary extensions of the existing fencing/barriers system funded during Bush/Obama years.
3/ But before that the government has to be reopened simply because holding the government hostage is illegitimate and wrong and should never happen again.
4/ Again, FWIW, I don't even really like that end point. But that would make a huge difference in the lives of lots of people. I wldnt be comfortable, if I had a vote, saying no if that were on offer. But again, no define it however you want from one moment to the next 'Wall'.
5/ We have a system that lots of the current leadership funded in the past, a mix of fences and barriers where there's some particular need, without confiscating people's property. More money for that, in the above context, I'd support.
6/ Might also make sense for Pelosi to say, after next week you can only get the same deal if we paint a semi-permanent L on your forehead.
