Judicial Watch has been quixotically trying to FOIA five memos advising President Obama in the run up to the Bin Laden raid. The DC Circuit says they can't have 'em. cadc.uscourts.gov/internet/opini…
The third memo on that bullet point list interests me most, and awkward as it is I'd suggest congress should find a moment in its busy schedule to hold hearings about what limitations, if any, exist or should exist on the president's power to order extrajudicial killing.
I don't think that's what Judicial Watch has been after tbh, but it's been my hobbyhorse for a long time. This isn't a subject where the Executive Branch should be governed by the secret quasi-law of its own lawyers' memoranda. Congress should do its job.
