Mueller's team is now about to--or at least has prepared to--engage in a criminal litigation through trial w/ Stone. That alone is a months-long process, and it should lead us to reevaluate the sources who said they were writing a report and getting ready to turn the lights off.

I still don’t have a good explanation for Mueller’s timing. Stone’s tweet about Podesta has been out there since Aug 2016, his false testimony to Congress since Sept 2017. There are good reasons to worry about evidence spoliation. Why wait to execute search warrants til Jan 2019?
One provocative potential answer
Another, more likely theory — but one whose implication is that the investigative team allowed to Trump to effectively stall parts of their work for at least six months while he dragged his feet about an interview and written responses.
