Plans convert into action. If action is known in advance, the enemy will be ready. Our enemy's readiness is precisely what we oppose. Let's make this overwhelmingly simple. Telegraphing. Haymaker. You're drunk. You're going to throw a punch. You pull you arm way, way back...
And anyone could see your intention before your action has time to complete. And, anyone can respond. Picture your enemy simply stepping back, voiding, and your haymaker makes you as vulnerable as can be.
#SunTzu is trying to tell us, do not telegraph. Let's apply this to @realDonaldTrump. He may, or may not, have the power to ensure the wall is built. We do not know if he does or doesn't. We do know that he takes his promise seriously. Truly seriously.
So here's what POTUS let's us know in advance. He lets us know his goal. He says, "My goal is to build the wall." And here's what he does not tell us in advance, "This is how I will do it." Why doesn't he tell us?
Obviously, he's following #SunTzu's advice. But more, he has basically, and rightly, no idea how. A commitment is built upon "what," as in what I intend to do. A negotiation concludes over "how," as in how we will do this.
Me? I have no idea how he's going to build the way. But, I have 100% confidence that he will. I support @realDonaldTrump for three reasons. 1) his goals, 2) his ego, 3) his skills. I agree with his goals. I believe in his ego. I respect his skills.
Let's change focus. Let's discuss his approval ratings. Does anyone still remember how he was always at center stage during the debates? I obviously do. His ratings made him #1 through the entire debate process. His ratings mattered.
Then, once he had the nomination, boom, his ratings dropped. Why? Because it didn't matter. One of his great principles is: take your hits early, and when they do not count.
Let's turn another direction. The Forgotten Americans. Trump always remembers them. The MSM and the power elite, they always forget them. I am a forgotten American. How about you? I know he has promised me the wall. How about you?
Victory cannot be divulged in advance. But, as we will see, the victorious general shows up on the field of fight having already won. POTUS has already won the fight over his wall, our wall. How? Not revealed. Not divulged.
Does POTUS read and know #SunTzu? Maybe not. Maybe he just knows the art of the deal. But all indications are that he is today's greatest master of the art of war. And I propose that victory after victory, he never reveals them in advance, and no one seems to note his pattern.
My own support was contingent on his winning, that is, he had to win a primary, and New Hampshire was the one that did it for me. I called his ultimate victory in that moment, and gave him my 100% support. No different today. That he will win, that we know. How? We do not know.
If there's a single thing I love most about our POTUS, it is that his eye is always on victory and that he never reveals how will win for us in advance. But if we're honest, we all know that win he will.
