I don't think we can yet answer that question, but I know some people who are working on it: @torchlabs, founded by my friend and colleague @yarbroughcam, and @KnowYourTeamHQ, founded by @clairejlew, come to mind.
And I appreciate @nytdavidbrooks' reference to social-emotional learning, although having studied SEL's rise in the 70s and disappearance in the 80s, I'm skeptical of a comeback. But SEL's ur-text, "Self-Science: The Subject Is Me," is an amazing resource: amazon.com/Self-Science-S…

While we tried as much as possible to avert major disasters in the past 48hours, we can’t but be grateful to patriotic officers within the @PoliceNG structures that allowed the Spirit of the Yuletide influence their actions. We have recorded far less casualties in 3years.
We are however concerned about the 100s of @PoliceNG officers dismissed for desertion. We are concerned about the selection process and this will be lookied into as we proceed. The low record of oppression, abduction & extortion of our youth this Christmas shows we can do more.
This doesn’t take away the fact that citizens have a who,e lot of thinking to do in their decision towards the realignment of leadership to purpose in 2019. All our institutions are under great pressure & stress by the enemies of our democracy. We are all Victims.

1/ Amid Twitter maybe getting rid of the "like" to promote "better dialog" and certainly giving safe haven to nazis and other extremists, a rant:
2/ You probably noticed how, people came forward to say that they'd reported the bomber for violent threats, and Twitter (as always) did nothing and (as always) now apologizes but (as always) won't say how they'll better handle. They won't, and I'll tell you one big reason why.
3/ to address complaints about threats and "improve the dialog" Twitter introduced the "quality filter." You see fewer threats and hate speech. BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN THERE'S LESS OF IT.

Question for @jack based on testimony: Where else does the Quality Filter/behavioral tools limit the exposure of tweets from accounts deemed low quality? How long does the rating last? Do tweets from accounts deemed low quality fail to show up in the timelines of their followers?
Given the liberal bias among #Twitter employees & many of those external entities involved, who can accurately judge whether particular news outlets are fairly described, rated and treated? Does Twitter have people in their feedback loops who can point out the confirmation bias?
Quality Filter previously used (“who follows you”, “who you follow” and “who you retweet”) as behavioral signals. Is this still the case? How is Twitter dealing with the “guilt by association” aspect of this?

I interact with a LOT of ppl during the course of my days. A woman I see often pulled me aside the other day and asked for my advice about a relationship killing her spirit. Painful actions, loads of manipulation, walking papers. She's been pleading w/her partner for a whole year
She's not a fool. She's just a woman who loves with a whole heart. After hearing the details, I gave her some homework:

1. For the next seven days ask yourself how this person and this relationship makes you *feel.*

When I am with __ I feel __.
When I talk to __ I feel.
2. For the next 7 days read these two quotes. Ask yourself if this relationship, feeling as you describe, is where you *belong.*

Do I belong with a person who makes me feel __.

Do I belong in a relationship that makes me feel __.

Can I be my FULL self in this relationship?
