- Correlation is not causation. There may be a 'link' (i.e. a correlation) between (A) support for Palestinian rights and (B) antisemitic views but that doesn't mean (A) causes (B). So what is this survey telling us?
- Boycotting Israel is not inherently antisemitic
- Tell people that some people who support BDS are antisemitic and many will arrive at the logical fallacy that *everyone* who supports BDS is antisemitic
- If you want ethnic cleansing of Jews from Israel, or destruction of Israel, that's antisemitic.
- But we should be cautious before encouraging sweeping generalisations
- People should feel confident they can support BDS, i.e. boycotting Israel, without being branded an antisemite
- So we should be *very clear* that the mere act of supporting BDS is legitimate politics not racism

- Shows 58% of cohort who believe 5+ antisemitic statements also support BDS
- What it doesn't show is "No fewer than 58 per cent of those who consider Israel an apartheid state strongly agreed or tended to agree with 5 antisemitic ideas"
