Imagine how Kavanaugh felt about an uncorroborated allegation from 3+ decades earlier, which every outlet treated as if it were true.
And no, we should not assume Fairfax is guilty. Thus far all we have is an allegation. But the difference in treatment from the press is noticeable.
Although I will note the evidence here is way more substantial than in the Kavanaugh case. Fairfax admits to knowing the accuser and having a sexual encounter. Dispute is over what happened during that encounter.
