BREAKING: Federal judge partially grants press bids to unseal Michael Cohen search warrants.

Prosecutors must supply a proposed redacted copy by Feb. 28.

That close relationship with Rudy spans generations of Mukaseys.

Marc Mukasey is the son of former U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey, who was Rudy Giuliani's co-counsel representing Reza Zarrab, the man behind the biggest money laundering scheme to Iran in U.S. history.

As my longtime readers know, Giuliani and the elder Mukasey unsuccessfully tried to arrange a prisoner swap between the Trump and Erdogan government's to free Zarrab. That failed, and Zarrab flipped. courthousenews.com/on-the-bench-i…
With today's news, both attorneys who took part in those negotiations to free the man behind the biggest money laundering scheme to Iran in U.S. history are now directly or indirectly tied to Trump's personal legal team.

1/ The federal judge in the Stormy Daniels case asked Michael Cohen to personally declare to the court that he will take the Fifth in order to obtain stay--in other words, to freeze--the case.
2/ The reason a stay is necessary is because in order to consider whether there is a valid arbitration clause, Daniels is entitled to discovery, which would include a deposition of Cohen under oath, which could be used against him in the criminal investigation.
3/ If Cohen took the Fifth and didn't answer questions in the deposition, it could be used against him in the civil case. That's why it looks like the judge will likely agree to at least partially freeze the Stormy Daniels case.
