🚨🚨🚨Roberts joins liberals to block Louisiana's abortion law🚨🚨🚨
KAVANAUGH writes dissent—would've let the Louisiana law take effect, even though it's virtually identical to the Texas anti-abortion law SCOTUS struck down in 2016's Whole Woman's Health. 5–4 decision.
Kavanaugh was willing to let Louisiana ignore Supreme Court precedent to enforce an unconstitutional TRAP law.
He has loudly signaled that he isn't willing to enforce Roe and its progeny. This is a declaration of war on Roe by Kavanaugh.

To be clear: Kavanaugh is apparently so eager to overturn Roe that he is willing to let states *ignore Supreme Court abortion precedent* and permit lower courts to effectively overrule the Supreme Court.

It's pretty clear why Roberts voted with the liberals here. Louisiana and the 5th Circuit were attempting to overrule the Supreme Court's 2016 Whole Woman's Health decision. Roberts may yet overrule WWH—but he isn't willing to do so on an emergency appeal.

@chrisgeidner Kavanaugh's dissent is absurd. He says SCOTUS should not block the law because Louisiana claims it won't enforce it too "aggressively" at first. Absolute nonsense. A bad-faith pinky promise does not justify flagrant violation of Supreme Court precedent. documentcloud.org/documents/5732… 
@chrisgeidner Kavanaugh was obviously desperate to justify his vote by pretending he adhered to Whole Woman's Health and Roe. Don't believe it. This dissent basically announces that Kavanaugh will *always* find some way to rationalize upholding anti-abortion laws. It is astoundingly dishonest.
