Imagine three years ago politicians being so sanguine about huge devaluations of sterling on the back of their policies.
And then an interesting change in the Article 24 fanfiction tradition. Johnson says that "under the provisions of GATT it is possible for the UK and EU bilaterally to agree a standstill arrangement" on tariffs.
This is interesting because until now the Brexiters had been pretending that you could use Article 24 unilaterally. They now seem to have given this up.
So now they are pretending that it can be used where there is no negotiating outcome you are working towards.
It is still the most vociferous nonsense, but worth briefly noting that they are very quietly giving up on one aspect of the nonsense that they have been citing for months.
