Ppl who’ve had a spouse or longtime partner die - and you eventually stopped wearing the ring? Do you ever weirdly feel that ring, sometimes? Like it’s suddenly still there?

Yesterday I learned I have to take a long-ish car trip with colleague from different office ....
A colleague I sort of avoid, not because I dislike her, but bc I vaguely feel she’s flirting with me and I just don’t want to live in that world anymore since G died.

So I had to give her a phone number where she could text me to pick me up at my house. And .....
I swear to you, as soon as I did it, I could FEEL MY WEDDING RING. Which I stopped wearing abt a year after G died, so 8 years ago. My other hand went to fiddle and adjust it, before I realized it wasn’t there.

And before the other law nerds beef this thread, yes, co-conspirator is presumed to intend the natural & probable consequences of whatever he agreed to do. E.g., murder when you rob bank with guns.

But “winning” can’t possibly be a natural and probable consequence of “losing.”
So my working hypothesis is there were two separate conspiracies, the Venn diagram overlap area of which contains a tiny few ppl (Manafort, Junior, Kush, Ivanka).

Trump Senior had a conspiracy to get money by not winning.

Putin had a conspiracy to control the USA.
Now do another paradigm shatter. When you imagine the “Trump circle” and the “Putin circle,” are you imagining all the ppl named “Trump” or married to a Trump in the “Trump circle”? Yeah, you are.

Move all of them except Trump Senior Moment to the overlap area.

Go with me for a sec, on the Burr thing. There are several possible ways to define the central idea of Trump/Russia:

- conspiracy to steal election and put Trump in WH

- conspiracy to buy politicians with money-laundered Russian mob proceeds

- conspiracy to fuck shit up in USA
Defined these three different ways, it would be perfectly legit to look at the same evidence and say “Yes, campaign colluded” or “No, campaign didn’t collude,” based on what you’d need to prove they conspired or colluded IN.

Now I must law-nerd digress. Conspiracy is the crime.
It’s a crime where you collude to accomplish a goal that’s criminal. It has two basic requirements: 1) an agreement to engage in criminal act(s) 2) some action that each charged defendant takes to further the goal of that agreement.

Let’s focus on “agreement.”

Here's what really chills me. How many things has Trump accused opponents of, where we didn't learn later that he was doing it himself?

Zero. That's right. Zero.
(That's also what chills me about the "taping-up-women-and-throwing-them-in-the-back-seat" thing he's addicted to reciting.)
I mean, no, Trump's not a doctor, and he's not a coyote. But the things that really grab his demented synapses, get stuck there, and keep cycling out his piehole, are as a general rule found to be projections from his own crimes.

Sometimes I'm really aware of how little energy I've had for the last few years.

I always feel like I'll just crumple if I have to do one. extra. thing and there are SO MANY THINGS.

Yesterday, I saw the best clarification tweet I've ever seen, in which someone said basically, "I'm not trying to build up Person A by tearing down Person B. They're both assholes but Person A is just slightly less of an asshole," and I have been thinking about it ALL NIGHT.
I feel like we sometimes think that if we criticize an author or other creative's behavior in a situation, people assume we're picking a side or declaring undying loyalty.
I've publically criticized authors whose work I like. I've publically defended people I'd love to see get hit by cars. Sometimes, it's the context of the situation and not the people involved that someone is commenting on.

sometimes i think "gifted" is the euphemism we used for "has ADHD" and literally everything, EVERYTHING the "gifted" kids got was literally the worst possible thing you could do to someone with ADHD

Yesterday I learned that Philip K Dick and Ursula Le Guin went to high school together (though didn’t really know each other). So anyway, if you want a sure-fire YA series please write Philip and Ursula solving sci-fi fantasy mysteries out in California in the late 30s-early 40s.
I promise you, if you write it amazon or Netflix will turn it into a TV series.
They are tracking down moth-men and lake monsters, solving impossible robberies committed by mechanical automatons on the verge of sentience, foiling a mad scientist whose apparatus threatens to open a door to another world where the war is going in a terribly wrong direction.

It’s funny (for me, at least) to notice how I learned I don’t need to be so precious about whitespace and visual noise…
…and having two side-by-side panes (one for writing, the other for notes) is easier than having them in one file and moving above and below.
