Like quite a few folks at this packed Manchester house party, I can’t see Booker deliver his pitch — I can hear him. And he adds a new quip about bipartisanship as the doorbell rings. “If that’s Chuck Grassley, let him in!”
Booker again offers a NH voter a pragmatic view of Medicare for All, B. He tells a NH voter that — his strong support aside — he wants to offer a “hard truth” that “we are going to need” 60+ votes in the Senate, which won’t be an easy task.
Memorable cameo appearances in Booker’s stump speech, based on this weekend so far:
- Grassley
- former Sen. Joe Donnelly (D-IN)
- former President George W. Bush (specifically, his reported quip dubbing Trump’s inaugural speech “some weird sh*t”).
Always look up when you’re at a cafe working furiously on a story. The candidate you’re in town to cover (Booker, today) might suddenly stop in.
