Gugu Mahlangu: In terms of registration applications we are lagging behind regional neighbours maybe its because of the economic situation in the country, if the economy improves the application will also increase #OpenParlyZW @MCAZofficial @healthtimeszim @MoHCCZim
Gugu Mahlangu: We also licence manufacturing premises for hospitals, pharmacies and the likes and we also do routine inspections, we now have over 600 pharmacies in our register #OpenParlyZW @MCAZofficial
Gugu Mahlangu: We also regulate the importation of medicines and we licensed about1443 import licences and 95 export licences #OpenParlyZW @MCAZofficial
Gugu Mahlangu: We also quality testing of medicines, all our condoms are tested each batch before they are authorized #OpenParlyZW @MCAZofficial
Gugu Mahlangu :We are also required to regulate public institutions in fact the Act says all institutions but we understand government is not bound by its own regulations #OpenParlyZW @MCAZofficial @TheFeedZW @MoHCCZim @healthtimeszim
Gugu Mahlangu: We are aware of drugs in the streets but we cannot go there because it is not mandate, but we do at times go on blitz with the police #OpenParlyZW @MCAZofficial @healthtimeszim @MoHCCZim
Gugu Mahlangu : We are not strict with government institutions because there are guidelines unlike at private institutions and that is why we are more strict with private institutions than public #OpenParlyZW @MCAZofficial @healthtimeszim @MoHCCZim @TheFeedZW
Gugu Mahlangu: The other thing is that we are no empowered to go to borders to monitor importation of drugs, also remember some are undeclared #OpenParlyZW @MCAZofficial @TheFeedZW
Gugu Mahlangu: Its the first time that I am hearing that legitimate pharmacies might be responsible for importing illicit drugs & selling them on the streets or through the back door, I think its mostly entrepreneurs doing it #OpenParlyZW @MCAZofficial @healthtimeszim @TheFeedZW
