Hugely enjoyed - if that’s the right word – @_bridgetheatre's adaptation of Harriet Lane’s Alys Always. Balzacian portrayal of a newsroom dogsbody escaping her miserable life and flat above a kebab shop by manipulating the rich but weak London intelligentsia
Incidentally, @HarrietLane shows the editors of the literary desk of an old-fashioned broadsheet dumping the hard work on juniors while swanning off on freebies. Where these bloody novelists get their ideas from is beyond me.

My date followed up by asking, “If your boyfriend asked you to cook for him, would you?” I grinned, as I realised my date was sadly playing from a script. I replied, “I don’t have a guy I like who’s asking me to cook, so I can’t say.”
I think my date thought I was being coy. But, I wasn’t. I was just being honest. A while ago, I decided to deal in reality and not hypotheticals. I have tried and failed to control life. All my effort got me was an anxiety problem and therapy.

Just finished the first proper run-through of #Harriet by @HildaMParedes at #MuziektheaterTransparant, and boy, this piece is going to hit the audience hard.
The realisation that #HarrietTubman died only just over a century ago, and her words are now being sung by an African American woman — the magnificent Claron McFadden — from a town (Rochester) that Harriet passed through on her missions, gives me goosebumps.
I don’t want to give away too much of @JeanLacornerie’s staging, but there are many moments that give me chills. One moment is where Harriet is ‘crowned’ in an intimate ritual that celebrates the hair that saved her from death when an overseer hit her head with a metal weight.

(1) A quick guide on following river level gauges: A key indicator of Hurricane #Lane effects in real time.

Go to this link: water.weather.gov/ahps/region.ph…

Notice the color of the river level gauges. These two orange ones are "in flood."
(2) Zooming in, you see a creek and a river near the town of #Hilo.

Hover over an orange diamond, and the river level chart should come into view. Don't click on the diamond.
(3) Depending on the available data, the chart will show current & recent river levels, and the feet above sea level where it enters the "minor flood" and then "major flood" stages.

This flooding is only the start of the multi-day #Lane related flooding.

It is no surprise Twitter targets accounts for “wrong think” or as we on the #Right like to call it “free-think” this is because of two events which are now totally and utterly inextricably linked, #Brexit and #Trump and the Establishment have been rocked to the core. 2/15
Neither of which were supposed to happen & yet they did now the Establishment is determined never to allow it to happen again or even at all, the reason for them happening was nothing to do with social media, but was to do with people knocking on doors and persuading others. 3/15
