because the right passed legislation saying that you have to be sure that the fetus has no heartbeat before performing an abortion or you could end up in jail. The RIGHT pushed the laws that created the need for fetal demise. Now they want to ban something they created.

so to break it down:

Left comes up with abortion procedure safer for patients than induction/csections. Right says nope, banning that because “partial birth abortion"

Abortion providers start injecting fetuses to stop heartbeat so they don’t break law, still can provide safer option.

Right says nope, now we are going to tell you you can’t do a fetal injection because that’s cruel and painful (reminder, most drs say a fetus can’t feel pain)

so then right says “you can’t do a d&E, even prior to viability, because it’s too painful for a fetus”. You know, the one that can’t feel pain yet. And that they are trying to ban from giving an injection just in case, and to avoid anything resembling “live birth"

Now you have no fetal demise, no ability to do an abortion that doesn’t produce a live intact fetus, AND a law that says you must try to keep that fetus alive at all costs even if it’s medically futile, or you could be sued or worse. So what does that leave a provider with?

Basically absolutely no ability to legally/safely provide an abortion after the first trimester. And states with one clinic & 72hour + waiting periods. & a whole bunch of pregnant people all trying to get in at once before 12 weeks. And this is the GOOD scenario if it stays legal

also clearly I should NOT have taken the behind the counter sudafed today because I can NOT STOP. I’m really going for a run this time. I need to put this energy somewhere else.
