Personally experienced rainfall atop ice in Greenland in summer 2016, when I was hiking across the Petermann ice shelf....

What I wrote about the experience....
Basically, the rain unleashed a torrent of small rivers and streams atop the ice shelf, which made it hard for us to get back to the helicopter that had brought us there. So I'm not surprised at all to learn that more frequent rain in Greenland is adding to melting.

2. In essence, the @IEA has found that as the global economy has grown in the last year, the world is turning to every type of energy possible to satisfy increasing demand. So that means wind and solar, yes, but it also means nuclear, lots of natural gas, and yes, even more coal.
3. As a result, while renewables are growing fast -- and energy efficiency keeps improving -- global emissions are nonetheless still rising. And so are emissions from coal plants, which set a new record high of over 10 gigatons of CO2 emissions last year.

2. This new study, covered by my colleague @JoelAchenbach, has a pretty stunning result -- at very high co2 levels there could be a feedback that kicks in adding another 8 degrees C (14.4 F). The feedback involves clouds, which have long been a question mark in climate studies.

Initially I had a meltdown about this as I realized then Mueller couldn’t speak of any criminal acts unless indictments were unsealed concurrently.

ICE arrested a California man on Wednesday when he stopped for gas while driving his wife to the hospital for her C-section. She ended up driving herself the rest of the way, giving birth alone. losangeles.cbslocal.com/2018/08/17/joe…
Important update: ICE said today that this man was arrested because of a homicide warrant for him in Mexico. ICE didn’t mention this in its comments to media yesterday. His lawyer says he denies that there are such Mexico charges; no details from ICE yet. washingtonpost.com/nation/2018/08…
ICE was asked for comment by news outlets doing proper due diligence, and its responses didn’t mention anything about homicide - just said the usual about how no illegal immigrant is safe from arrest. I updated as soon as ICE provided new info.
