Some of the Goldwater-Buckley conservatives bitching about Trump being racist are some of the same people who couldn’t find money for minority engagement — who pushed a neo-conservative-colorblind-fusionist-lily-white-anti-Black agenda in the Party... LONG before Trump.
They intentionally sought to censor and shutdown Black Republicanism from ever having a big influence in the Republicans party. They had their Lily White Evangelical, pro-Israel, etc, identities upfront. But, the Black conservative identity had to take a backseat to them.
