.@EWRairport is efficiency closed right now after an aircraft landed with reports of an onboard fire and evacuation on the runway.

#TS942 made a very rapid descent into @EWRairport. No word on whether it was an actual fire or just an indication. Either way, superb job by the crew to get it on the ground very quickly.
FAA statement:
#TS942 was advised that there was smoke coming from the cargo hold after landing and was advised by the ground staff at EWR to evacuate onto the runway.
.@EWRairport has reopened to flights as of this time
Airline says nobody was injured
