Switched on Parl TV.

@sarahwollaston on cracking form. She came back as quick as a tack reminding @timloughton that he appears to have difficulty in identifying who is the patient, he having suggested that when it came to informed consent that the EU was the patient.
2/ @JustineGreening and @YvetteCooperMP are both right about how the public view many of the speeches and the appalling braying that they seem to think is OK.

Despair. Disgust. Losing the will to live maybe suggests a state of mind far more supine than mine

Contempt is closer
3/. An entirely out of order SIR John Hayes had a poke at the “Remain élite” and including DR Sarah Wollaston (from a humble background) in that category for suggesting a #PV...he trying to pretend that he is not part of the very élite that has driven this.
4/. @Anna_Soubry, quick as a flash comeback,
“Can I say to the honourable gentleman, a knight of the realm of course...Is he saying the people of Nottingham are an elite. Indeed in Streatham. Are they the elites?"
God. Hayes is really bad. He misses the mood of the country entirely.

@YvetteCooperMP is spot on picking him up on it ..although only as “unhelpful”.
6/. God. That braying. That appalling braying.

They have no sense whatsoever how utterly puerile they sound.

How pathetic.

How absolutely unsuited to high office. Even low office.
7/. @RhonddaBryant: absolutely brilliant on the Gov desire to have a 3rd “gyratoring motion” on a MV in a matter of a few weeks - defeated by the largest majority.

He called upon centuries of Parl tradition (See Erskine May, whilst refusing to allow the people to have a 2nd
8/. He recited from the Muppets. He got it right.
9/. @MikeGapes I think has it right about the timing of the PM choice to trigger A50 when she did. To try and avoid the EU elections.

I think that WAS the pressing timetable for her and the LP Front Bench fell for it, despite putting us on a non stop escalator
10/. Of course @MikeGapes did not vote to get on the escalator.

@PaulBlomfieldMP did. But he is speaking accurately but dull. The Ref was a painfully narrow majority and not something to rupture our relationship with near neighbours.

Diluted further by the #GE17
11/. Points out that May allowed MP to speak but failed to listen.

True.

But that is ALSO true of the LP Front Bench. Even when faced with a Conference Policy motion and this keeps sucking out conviction from LP Front Bench.

At least he mentioned supporting a #PV.
12/. Oh God. LP FB carries on digging its own grave pretending that an extension suffice to make decisions and a PV does NOT suggest participating in EU elections.

I am sick of them

These cowardly, intellectually weak arguments must stop.

They hand a gift to @SteveBarclay
13/. The LP Front Bench seeks to hope to fool us all.

Steve Barclay is right to call out LP FB unicorns.

They are a path to failure.
14/. Corbyn sitting there looking for all the world like a 10th hand garden gnome that no one much wants to buy, save out of pity..

“Will you take 5pence?”

“That’s insulting”.

“OK. No deal”.
15/. Why would not Barclay take advantage of the fact that the FB not backing Party Policy?

The house is filling up. So lots of people will be voting who could not be arsed to participate in the debate.
