All I am saying is that they have a business model that charges exorbitant fees (50 cents an email, $5 a transaction) on the families and people least able to pay

They provide valuable services but at costs that are FAR Too steep for incarcerated people & families to bear. Time to insist on MORAL business models for literally captive audiences.

By the way, they do a LOT more than operate the phones...also email, inmate accounts (how they get money from the outside), video visitation, the cash cards people leave incarceration with, tablet technology, all the electronic infrastructure

I do not want these services to stop, I want governments and Securus to agree on more MORAL models for extracting payments. I want DOC's to stop participating in and profiting from bilking poor and traumatized families, and unless that happens, divestment...or?
