Still on the disturbing injury/death of school children in the collapsed building in Lagos. I agree we should hold government responsible. But who is the government? #Nigeriawecan
The governor didn’t mark the building for demolition, one of us working for an agency of government did. Other Nigerians working for government that should have demolished the building did not. #Nigeriawecan
Nigerians like you and me constructed the building with poor materials in violation of building codes. The owner of the building is one of us. The school owners are part of us. #Nigeriawecan
Whatever we think government should do is actually our responsibility. We are the government, and we collectively lack value for human life. We are hypocrites if we say we love and yet allow humans to be treated with such indignity. #Nigeriawecan
It is puzzling that we can be so fiercely ambitious individually and yet lack ambition collectively. We can build a developed economy over time, once most of us agree to do it. #Nigeriawecan
The grief of those that lost loved ones in the air crash, building collapse, etc, this week was the same across all races. The videos brought tears to our eyes. Our ethnic and religious prejudices are just useless. We share a common humanity. #Nigeriawecan
The irony is that the schools that should shape our young people into proper humans with character and skills now damage not only their psyche with mediocrity, but in this instance also their bodies. #Nigeriawecan
The big question on my mind: how do we get the average Nigerian/African/human to so value their life and those of others that they no longer take rubbish and commit to serve others with excellence? How? #Nigeriawecan
How do we tweak our policies and laws so we and government can earn money more easily, and so we can pay for excellent services while offering the same? #Nigeriawecan
We can change this situation. Yes, we can. We can start where we each are right now. I can start with my family and the organizations I lead. You too. Then we allow only those with good records to lead us in government and hold them accountable. #Nigeriawecan
